There are tiny oil ducts just inside one's eyelashes that produce a layer of oil that prevents tears from evaporating quickly. Clogging of these oil ducts is very often the cause of dry eyes. My optometrist examined my oil ducts under magnification and said most of them were clogged. He recommended lid scrubbing just inside the lash line to clear the clogs and said this product is acceptable for that use. I close my eyes, then rub gently with one of these pads between the upper and lower lashes, then splash with water to rinse. It took a couple weeks to clear out enough plugs to get good results. To reduce the cost, I cut each lid scrub pad into 4 sections and store 3 sections for use on subsequent days.
