I am befuddled at the reviews that speak of unending frustration. This was easy-peasy to put together. 30 mins, tops! The most time-consuming part was deciding how far apart we wanted our shelves. To all of the reviewers who had trouble with assembly, I offer you this insight: 1. The plastic pieces are NOT SUPPOSED TO clip together around the pole. 2. The shelves are NOT SUPPOSED TO merely rest “on top of” the plastic pieces, but slide over them like a sheath. 3. The plastic pieces are labeled to indicate TOP, and if you don’t follow that directive, you’ll never get this unit assembled. The plastic pieces rest in the grooves of the pole and when you have them in place, you simply slide the shelves over top of them. The plastic pieces will then compress together and be snug inside the collars on each shelf. After reading the negative reviews, and then seeing how easily this went together, I am certain that some reviewers simply didn’t know how this was supposed to be assembled. We liked the first one so much, we bought a second. I decided to time it this time. One person, from box to completely built, less than 18 minutes. That includes unwrapping pieces and opening bags, etc. Don’t be scared of this because some folks misunderstood how to put it together. You can assemble this easily!! By yourself. Less than 30 mins.
