I went hiking and sightseeing in the Midwest where the wind is quite strong and the sun is too. I am easily burned and am always concerned because skin cancer runs in my family. This hat was up for the job of protecting me and keeping fashionable. The strap actually helped a lot on windy days out in the prairies of North Dakota. So far, it’s also kept the sun off of my head and face. When friends around me wearing baseball caps cane out looking like lobsters, I only received light sun on my shoulders. I highly recommend this product!
