Great coffee system! I am not a coffee snob. But I do like very strong black coffee. Using 8 o’clock dark Italian espresso whole bean coffee from Walmart, which I ground last week, and heating on a 15 year old MSR whisperlite, Yeilded a rich smooth cup (actually a quart ) of coffee every time. This is what I have learned. 1. Before first use, separate the three parts of this system and run them through the dishwasher. I used top rack. 2. Convert your normal ratios - water volume to coffee grounds to match the premarked volumes on the can 3. All issue with using this system seem to resolve themselves with water and heat. 4. Trouble with pushing the press down .... wet the rubber first. After a few rounds of coffee, the press gets very smooth. I grind my coffee very fine and the press did a great job keeping the grounds out of the coffee. Hope this helps.
