Rat maritime warfare
The only one that finally worked.
The rat was on my boat.
My rat was an experienced rat.
This clearly was not this rat's first rateo.
It scoffed at the trap I tried that looked like the gaping jaws of a T-Rex. It just picked the bait from T Rex's jaws.
This rat was mocking me.
The sticky paper i tried he just used for exfoliation, leaving rat fur in the sticky stuff.
I had been wishing the rat a painful death, so the bad karma cooties must have been punishing me with repeated trap failures. This rat had cosmic friends.
So now to the good karma "humane no kill" trap.
Third night it worked.
I woke up early say 4 am and, as i was reading in my forward berth, I began to hear the rat exploratory noises.
I held my breath!
I said a silent prayer.
Then the sound of the cage door slamming shut, followed by the sounds of the little fellow scratching and chewing on the wire mesh, clearly chagrinned and trying to escape.
I smiled and went back to sleep.
Later I took him for ride, to a field by a local park.
As I opened the cage and we said our goodbyes, he looked back and made an obscene gesture. I replied with just a smile, a smile of smuggliness.
