The acoustic panels seem to do a good job of dampening sound. They come shipped compressed, and the manufacturer suggests soaking them in water to re-expand them. After wringing them out, I put them in the clothes dryer (set on cool, no heat) but they did not come out completely dry. I found that running them through the washer on the gentle spin cycle before putting them in the dryer did a good job of getting them dry.
