The 4 MUST HAVE characteristics of a high-quality whey protein.
This is GREAT stuff. I'm looking for 4 critical characteristics in my whey protein: #1) Grass fed cows. Seriously, cows are supposed to eat grass. I'm not interested in eating anything from a factory farm that feeds GMO corn to their animals. Cows are a grass-to-milk factory. I don't care what imaginative creation modern science has created to feed cows, but if it ain't grass I'm not interested in eating a science experiment. #2) Organic. Actually grass fed is more important than organic, because it is natural. Grass fed non-organic would be better than corn-fed organic. But I live in world where I deserve the best, so therefore I want BOTH: Grass Fed AND Organic. And yes, I realize "organic" is just a certification, but it does say something about the standards the farm is held to. #3) A2 Milk from Jersey Cows. You people who have lactose intolerance and milk allergies need to look at A1 vs A2 milk. It is too involved to include in this review, but just look it up as there is plenty of info on Google. A2 is the one you want. Better cows, better milk, better protein. A2 is a better quality protein that is more bio-available. #4) Non-GMO. If the protein meets #1-3 above, then this is probably redundant. But, just to be clear you want nothing to do with GMO food. Only politicians, GMO Seed companies, and their paid-for biased research studies believe GMO is good. As for me, I wouldn't eat one spoonful of that garbage. So there are my 4 most important things in choosing whey powder. This is one of only a few on the market that meet all 4. There are some that have 2 or 3 out of 4. But I deserve the best quality, and I don't settle for less, even if I wind up paying more for it. If you are wondering how it tastes, this stuff tastes GREAT! But if you are comparing this to the GNC crap you've been buying that tastes great because it has sugar and artificial flavors, you are missing the point. This tastes extremely natural, like milk concentrate. But it doesn't have some foo-foo vanilla flavoring and added garbage to try to make it taste good. Just put this in your smoothie, and you won't even notice the mild flavor. There are only a few whey protein options that meet my above criteria. And, I'm trying them all so I hope to update this review later with my comparison. But for now, if you are looking for a first-rate quality protein for a reasonable price, you can feel confident in buying this one for sure. And sure, it is a little more money than many of the other choices. But in the wise words of Zig Ziglar . . . "Isn't it better to spend a little bit more than you planned, than a little bit less than you should?"
