Posted a Video on How to Fix the Automatic Feeding Problem (See Attached Video)
So far this feeder is okay aside from the gravity feed problem. I am glad that it is metal because it is what I was looking for after finding that plastic feeders give cats Kitty Acne under their chin (black flaky stuff under their chin after eating or drinking from plastic). My veterinarian told me they don't know why plastic does this, but the best way to prevent it is to use metal, glass, or porcelain bowls. I decided on metal because nothing seems to stick to them and they are easy to clean. After buying a plastic automatic feeder from Walmart and going through the kitty acne stuff, I decided to look for an automatic feeder with a metal bowl and found this one. The problem I found though is that it did not gravity feed well, you had to move it around to get the food to come down. Well I noticed that my old plastic gravity feeder had a plastic separator on it, which is how the food was able to come down on its own. I was going to take it and try to make something similar to it for this feeder when I found that the separator actually fit perfectly into this automatic feeder. Because of this, I decided to make a video that would help others with this problem. I hope it helps! The plastic automatic feeder is sold at Wal-mart for about $5.00 and the piece you need fits directly like it was made to fit this feeder. See video and if you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask and I will email back ASAP. By the way, I am not affiliated with this company in anyway, I actually bought mine like many of you did through amazon. If fact, this comment should have a verified buyer sign on it for amazon because I bought it here.
