Wish I had taken pictures, but I was able to cut up 3 weeks worth of accumulated cardboard boxes, including a very large Purple mattress adjustable bed box (which was made of thick cardboard and the size of a queen-size bed) to all fit into a single recycling trash can. There were probably about 20 boxes total, of varying sizes. The blade worked just as well on the last box as it did on the first. I was not particularly gentle with it, wanting to see how it would hold up, and it worked perfectly. Keep in mind, I'm talking about actually cutting up the cardboard boxes into small pieces to fit nicely into a trash can, not just cutting through the tape to open the boxes up. It obviously cuts through tape and opens packages, but probably overkill just for that. Slice makes a much smaller mini cutter that's more appropriate to just open packages (I also have this, and it's been one of the best things I've bought on Amazon - use it on a nearly daily basis). This is a little larger than I expected, which makes it easy to get a good grip on. There is a space for an extra blade on the back of the handle, although an extra blade is not included. I'll update if I run into problems, but so far, very happy with it.
