Very shocked . . .
First let me say that I'm completely uncompelled by Dave Asprey & BPC & all that nonsense. HOWEVER. This stuff is incredible. I bought a bottle a year ago, when I was desperate to lose some weight. Note: I bought the last version, called "Upgraded MCT Oil", & advertised as 6x stronger than coconut oil. The current version is called "Brain Octane" & is supposedly 18x stronger than coconut oil. I foolishly used too much of it at once, & too much butter, & just got the runs. Loved the buttery-tasting coffee, but otherwise didn't think much of it. I added the bottle to my SHELF of discarded supplements and weight loss attempts. Cursed myself for spending so much money on it. Fast forward a year later; I've now been eating "primal-y" for about a month. I decided to try the MCT oil again, this time only 1 TEASPOON + 1 TEASPOON of butter in coffee at a time. This time -- WOW. Within 10 minutes of drinking it, I feel this great clarity, energy , & optimism. Yes, I realize how silly that sounds. But -- hey. I've been taking 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day. Maybe i'll work up to a tablespoon at a time, but if a teaspoon works, that's great w/me. Last night, instead of crashing during that early evening make-dinner-help-with-homework-clean-up slump, I had some decaf with upgraded MCT oil, & felt great until bedtime (then slept very well). I don't think you have to take this with coffee -- take it however you want. Also, I suspect that it works best (or only) in conjunction with a paleo/primal-ish diet. (This may even make nutritional sense, as fats become more usable by your body when you're in a fat-burning, rather than sugar-burning mode. I think. Supposedly. ) YMMV, of course . . . :)
