Economy Italian Espresso at home!
I wanted to be able to make decaf espresso at home, but I did not want a big machine. I read a lot of reviews which led me to this stovetop pot and also led me to give this information. This stovetop espresso pot is so easy to use, and in 13 minutes you will be drinking great espresso. I put in a perspective picture. You can see it isn't much bigger than a one cup measuring cup. This is a 5-6 cup espresso maker and it holds 12 oz of water (fill to below vent, don't overfill). Then fill the basket with fresh ground espresso beans, but don't tamp them down. Screw on the top of the pot. Place it on the stovetop on your smallest burner. I put the heat at about 8.5 out of 10. 10 is too high. Then just wait. It will start to gurgle and steam and smell scrumptious. Wait until you don't hear it gurgling anymore, then take it off the heat (about 13 minutes this morning). Now serve! Perfect every time!! I polish it by buffing it dry every time I clean it. (By the way, my antique cups hold just under 2 oz apiece and this makes six of those.)
I bought this one because it's not too cheaply made and the reviews were great, but the instructions were not explicit enough about the use.
I contacted the seller and found that this pot is made in China. Great heavy duty stainless steel construction. It cleans up beautifully.
