So, yes I could get this on Tesla’s web site, for $500. But, everything I order from their web site takes weeks and weeks to arrive. I love the company and I love the car, but I hate ordering anything from their site, it’s just SOOOO slow. So, I figured the $60 was a convenience tax, and I paid it, and it was delivered in two days. It is a factory sealed box, it works flawlessly, and I have no regrets, because I needed the charger and my electrician was available, and now I can charge my new Model 3 at 48A, and it adds 44 miles of range for every hour plugged in. If you have a Tesla car, any model, single or dual on board chargers, standard or long range battery, no matter what, if it says Tesla, this is the charger you need. The handle has a button that will open the charging port on the car. When installed the charger is configured to know how much power is available, based on installation, and it will make sure your car uses the right amount, automatically. You just plug into your car, and it charges. If you have any other brand car, besides Tesla, this will NOT work for you. There is no adapter available.
