Works great, but read the directions carefully!!!
This heater is great once you learn how to use it. It's not as easy as just turn a knob, there's a process to it. However, once you learn it it works great. We have a 25lb propane tank hooked up to it with the hose kit accessory. If you're going this route, ensure you release the gas out of the gas line before turning it off. Otherwise the seals will wear out and it won't last very long. You can do this by simply turning off the gas propane tank FIRST and letting the heater burn off the gas until it goes out. Then rotate it to the off position and it's good to go. The kit hooks up perfectly and easily inside the unit where the small green cylinders usually go.
I knocked off a star because of the fan feature. It has just an on and off setting. I don't recommend using batteries because they don't last long (8hrs max) and it's very quiet, so it's easy to forget that it's on even after turning it off. Suggestion: add some sort of timer feature to the on off switch. Just a thought. You can also purchase an AC adapter and just forget about the batteries. That said, the fan isn't very powerful so I'm not sure how useful it is anyways.
One last tip: if you're using a 25lb gas propane tank, you only need to turn the value on the tank about 3/4 to one full turn. Do not turn it all the way on! The extra pressure gets exhausted somewhere and you can smell the propane. It's also a waste of propane.
