This is my second Eheim Quick Vac Pro. They work great until water gets into the battery cavity - which is not covered by the warranty. I was able to remedy the situation with a simple work around. After changing the batteries, wrap the upper cap seams in silicone tape (can be found here at Amazon or at your local hardware store). Pull it tightly to get a good seal. The tape is water proof and sticks to itself. Since using the tape, I have not had any issues with the vac and it makes the job of cleaning the fish tank much easier.
