I have no idea why people write negative reviews about this product. We have a cat who for reasons unknown urinates on only one room. The product is easy to use and we had a carpet that most people would have considered throwing away. After careful deep cleaning I was able to get the carpet to look like I could entertain guests. The stain removing power of this machine is incredible. It does not leak, the only thing I noticed is that it does tend to create little carpet balls that need to be cleaned out of the brushes and head after use. To make things even better, our carpet is 22 years old and looks brand new! I think the people who complain about suction are using the machine like a vacuum. I deep (Max) cleaned our carpet and within 12 hours it was completely dry. When cleaning our carpet I held the trigger down for three passes, one forward one back and one forward again. I then suctioned the carpet at a rate of about 1 ft./min. In order to get maximum suction Cleaning small sections at a time is important because you don’t want the water to soak into your carpet and you want to make sure that your water is as hot as possible with suctioning. And when cleaning it’s important to go slow when suctioning up dirty water. I have used at least four different carpet cleaners including one that we rented from the grocery store and this by far is the best I have used. I don’t think because of the size of the head that I would want to use it for a very large room though. If I could rate this 10 stars I would. I will caution though if you use this machine in bare feet and are wearing blue jeans, roll up your jeans! LOL I found out the hard way. Because I was stepping on my blue jeans with my heel that my blue jeans even though they have been washed many many times we’re leaving blue stains on the carpet. Good news though is that the stains were able to be removed with this machine. Also, many people will just wanna rip it out of the box and put it together and use it right away. I am that kind of person, but with this machine I think it’s important to read the directions..all the directions. Good luck! Update: After 3 months of use this cleaner continues to impress! Easy to use, great suction and easy to clean. MAKE SURE to vacuum before using!! Also, for best results go SLOWLY during suction! A rate of one foot per minute will yield tremendous results!
