This light is helping me win the war against fleafestation in my neighbor's home. Her previous roomie went round the bend and failed to take action when their combo of 4 kitties and our worst flea summer in years made the home uninhabitable. She is working out of town and I'd always cat-sit for her, as she did for me. Oh boy. So far, the cats have gone to the vet for capstar, revolution, skin care, and boarding while we bombed the place. We used a whole can of spray from the vet, half a pound of diatom powder, and a cup of extrafine popcorn salt. Still, the adult fleas jumped on us every visit. Homemade traps caught 100 the first day, but the stoop labor of cleaning them and wiping the floors when I slopped them made me feel like Cinderella with itchy ankles and a missing Prince. These are too bright for an occupied bedroom but they are murdering adult fleas at a satisfying rate. With her not home, I can move them around and monitor the effectiveness of my fleacidal intentions. The adults appear to be diminishing in size and number and will also face the next onslaught by Amazon: 5 lbs of food grade diatom powder for the floors and outdoors, capstar to give the kitties when we have to put them outside to re-bomb the joint, and another can of that vet spray at $3 cheaper. Die, hopping scum.
