PLEASE READ THIS for help installing.....
I had all kinds of trouble to begin with. The strip is too bulky to get in the connector, and the copper wouldn't connect even if I did. Like others said, it was covered with some film, but I think that is on purpose in case you put these on a metal surface or something. Here's what worked very easily for me! Take a fingernail, and peel the rubber away from the led strip, it's pretty easy to do, Then cut it back the length of the connector. Then connect the new exposed clean side to the strip, works like a charm. That why the contacts are raised up in the connectors. Worked like a charm! Please mark this as helpful if it works for you, so others see it. Until I figured this out, it was very frustrating.
