Another great job Emma. A film for adults!.
Emma is a force of nature. She IS the character that she plays in every film. This film and her 2017 "The Children Act" are such polar opposite themes and yet she immerses herself, (and you), in believing you are looking in on a real person' s life. Not to malign Streep's impressive body of work, but her forays into the "pre-sold" Mamma Mia sequels, scream "I want $" - what's next Meryl? A green screen, action romp w/ bit R. Downey?
Emma comtinues to stand her ground in playing character roles and bit, short "gag" cameos, (I guess to kp the studios happy?) Emma Thompson is one of, if not, our finest living actor today. Unfortunately, whovever "marketed/ threw out" her last two features, should be fired. There is a large market of adults who still want to go out to a film at the weekend. Thls film and " The Children Act" should have been released in the fall. Kudos to Mindy and the director, forget racial or sexual diversity! You are so darn young, smart and just at the beginning of your journies. Thank you "Dame" Emma for bringing yet another character into real life for two hours. A most enjoyable, not too preachy, fun film for adults.
