I got this app because I wanted a virtual tape calculator. I purchased the app to get the add free version. This is very good as a tape calculator. When doing financial or expense calculations, the tape helps to review and confirm entries. This makes it easier to notice an entry error (android on screen keyboards do not give the same feel as a real keypad so errors can be made). Individual entries can be changed and automatically recalculated. The calculator is easy to read on my 10 inch Prime tablet, and works in portrait and landscape mode. Multiple calculations can be performed on the virtual tape. These calculations will be automatically labelled: Calculation 1, Calculation 2, etc. I gave this app 5 stars because as a basic tape calculator it is very good. This is what I got it for. This is what it does. It does have some faults or shortcomings: Text can be added but it takes some doing. Select line, choose "Edit TEXT", type text,and confirm(OK): needs to be performed for each line. Separate calculations can not be saved, copied, or deleted. All of these functions are performed on the entire tape. The tape is automatically cleared in 10 hours by default. This setting can be changed to: Never, 1 hour,5 hours, or 10 hours. This really is rather a point to remember than a shortcoming (Don't expect to save anything for the next day unless you change this setting). The ENTIRE tape can be copied to a note, but text added entries will need to be edited for spacing. It will be harder to read/track the entries otherwise (I like my numbers in a column, so I have to add spaces). The above items did not affect my rating, because none of these were factors in my decision. I wanted a virtual tape calculator. I decided on this calculator. This calculator does not have extra permissions ("Access the vibration feature" is the only permission used by this app). This calculator works off-line. It works very well for me when I need a tape calculator.
