I have read the reviews when I was researching what shelf system to buy and I saw that some people felt that this system is NOT 700 watts RMS and they thought the subwoofer made no difference. Just let me say that YOUR WRONG. This system SLAMS. I do wood work in my basement and it literally shakes the floor. I would buy 2 of these and hook them up if it weren't going to be outrageously loud. I have re-built and built stereo systems and have had numerous sound systems. I had a similar shelf system that was made by Sony and it was rated for '700' watts. It also has 2 speakers and a subwoofer. It doesn't compare to the LG CM-4550. I LOVE THIS SHELF SYSTEM. I do think there is a BREAK-IN period though. If you take it straight out the box and blast it, you will get the speaker smell for a couple days. Other than that, I love it. I cannot praise it enough. So whoever thought this wasn't loud or that the subwoofer made no difference, your delusional. I have Rockford fosgate 2 P3D412'S in the trunk of my car with a 1000 watt mono block Memphis audio amp and they absolutely will make your ears hurt, well, so will the CM-4550. Of course the bass is not as deep, but it definitely puts out 700 watts RMS. NO QUESTION. GOOD JOB LG!!!!!
