YOU DO NOT NEED the app that requires you confirm a cable subscription. I have no idea why they made this so hard - but this is what customer service confirmed to me after I reamed them out for misleading advertising. You simply search for the Starz programming you want to see and you can watch it on your Fire Stick or Amazon Prime application. Same is true of Showtime if you subscribe - but not HBO - it still requires a proprietary application. I think we are still in transition from the all powerful cable entrepreneurs - to the new kings of digital streaming. I did save a good bit by cancelling Starz, HBO and Showtime from my monthly cable package and signing up for them on Amazon - where I almost always watch non commercial stuff anyway.
