Considerations before purchasing!
This is a great space saving and convenient idea - but... as I found out after receiving this and installing it, there are a few things to check before buying:
1. There is an outlet nearby to the door you are planning to hang it on (I realized that my laundry room door is not near any wall outlets to plug an iron into - its behind the machines).
2. The door has enough clearance in front of it to actually use the board - that you can stand to one side - preferably suitable to your dominant hand and ironing position. I like to stand with the rounded end to my left, iron with my right hand, so prefer to stand to the right of the hanging board.
3. The door has enough thickness and height to hang it securely and position it at the right height. I had thought of hanging it on a cabinet door - too thin and too low - the board was below my waist when horizontal.
Luckily for me, the door to my walk-in closet is suitable and there is a wall outlet within reach. But I have to hang it on the inside of the closet when stored, and move it to the outside of the door when I want to use it - otherwise I will be looking at the ugly underside whenever I am in my master bathroom.
The product is as expected. It's for occasional use - not heavy duty. It's lightweight, easily moved about. Stable enough when horizontal - a little springy, but that's to be expected of a cantilevered board. It isn't as stable as a standalone ironing board as far as up and down motion - but can be more stable laterally because its supported by the door.
If they made a higher quality version with some height adjustment, I would probably get that instead. Overall, a decent product for the money and works if the above conditions in your desired installation location works out.
