So I'm going to be very critical and explain everything on my account of this violin.
First and foremost, this violin can't hold a tune. Obviously, it's brand new! For anyone who knows anything about stringed instruments, new strings take a week to two weeks of gently playing with and tuning the strings so that they stretch and can hold a tune. So, disregard anything someone says about it not holding a tune, they must be really new.
So the violin. It seems like a solid instrument. The coloring is cute, and it has a tiny bit of weight (its incredibly light). You need to attach the bridge yourself, which is very easy with the instructions that they give you. This is so that the bridge or strings don't break during shipping. Makes a very nice sound.
The bow. The bow is a very nice one, smooth and solid. The horsehair can be tightened and loosened by a bolt at the end of the frog for easier storage. It makes a nice sound when rosined and is easy to hold.
The rosin. **I WOULD SUGGEST BUYING ANOTHER ROSIN** Mine came in hard as a brick and dusty, and even after filing it down to the point where it broke in half, it was just not good. Rosin is cheap, but you need to find a good kind. You can get it for as cheap as $1. I would suggest a light rosin for violin.
The case. The case is nice, sturdy, and lightweight. Mine has a cream colored interior. It's a soft, velvety fabric. There is Velcro to hold the neck of the violin, and the hole fits the body of the violin nicely. There is place for 2 bows to be held, and an interior pocket for the rosin and tuner.
The tuner. Nice, tiny thing. The clip is a bit strange though. It gets the job done however, and it's not hard to use.
Why four stars? It is an EXCELLENT deal for this money, but I'm subtracting a star for the rosin. Rosin is critical to buying a violin because with out it, you can't make a noise.
