Best grill attachment ever!
It's my birthday. My wife and my son bought me the 1.63" Zenwatch 2 in silver. They also bought me a Milanese Magnetic strap to go with it. Since it's my birthday and it's also Fathers day at the weekend it's steaks on the grill tonight. I bring my watch arm up slightly as I'm placing steaks on a red hot grill. Both my hands are contaminated with steak juice and rub. I say clearly "Ok google, give me a four minute timer" The assistant on my arm switches to a four minute countdown stopwatch and four minutes later buzzes my wrist. Flip perfectly caramelized steaks while holding a conversation and a beer. Repeat the command, Perfect steaks. Throughout the day, I've had a steady stream of notifications most of which I ignore. My Mobile is tucked in my jeans pocket and I get it out a couple of times to go through the notifications that I already know about. I've downloaded about 20 different watches into the Zenwatch and just for fun I designed one myself. This could easily be a new hobby. A word to the wise , don't immediately go to your mobiles Bluetooth setting and pair it yourself. It screws up the Android Wear App and you have to do a factory reset on the Zenwatch to get it straight. I'm not going to bitch at Asus about this because it's there in the instructions in very plain English. Just open the little booklet and follow the process and you won't have a problem. Value for money: This all started because I broke my Nokia Lumia 920 and I decided that if Microsoft wasn't going to support the Windows Phone platform then why should I? I looked around for an unlocked phone since my carrier is T-Mobil and settled on a Huawei GX8 that I bought off Amazon for $250. This Zenwatch cost $139 and the Milanese magnetic bracelet cost $21. So for the combined cost of about $410 I have a gorgeous premium looking mobile and a beautifully finished smartwatch that works perfectly with it. Uhh, how much is an IWatch in stainless steel with a Milanese strap? Or how about a Huawei watch? I personally have no problem with the bezel. When I look at most of my 'dumb' watches they all have pretty thick bezels. I like the square shape because it's easier to read information. There's a reason screens are rectilinear. Circular screens are so 1935. The Zenwatch running Marshmallow is not really a watch. Sure it can simulate one because it's fun. But the reality is that it's a small chunk of your mobile strapped to your wrist and you can interact with it while covered in steak juice.
