There are changes from the books, and Harriet was OK with that
There were big changes in the first 3 episodes, and they fit in with this adaptation of Rober Jordan's epic series. I've been reading and rereading for 30 years, I love the books, all 2000+ individual characters he created. There is no way anyone can recreate them in a show, not in 8 seasons or 18 it's just too big. Rafe does a good job with the time he has. Some of the acting is a bit stiff at first, but it improves over time. Rand and Egwene's sex scene a bit much? Come on folks they're healthy 20+ year Olds, it not like they're innocent kids. They're old enough to marry and it's obvious from other comments they don't have hangup about it. There's cuts made and pieces added in, neither of which harms the storyline in fact it helps it move along. There's a big addition in the Inquisitors story that adds into the fear and hatred towards them very quickly, not even the leader of The Whitecloaks like them. Trollocks are great, cuddly they are not. The Eyeless face is fantastic, the stuff of nightmares for little kids. Scenery and sets are fantastic, I almost wish they'd been able to save them.
