Good exercises, could do without diet culture
I really like this deck of cards. They're very technical and clear in the instructions. I like that it gives you suggestions on how to group different cards into different workouts. The little calendar card is a nice touch. What I didn't like, was the goal card. I understand having a place to write your goals, ie you want to do 100 push-ups or whatever. The issue I have is the imagery and "motivational words" on the card. It plays too much into diet culture. Images of a scale, shrinking waist, measuring tape, etc, and on the back it says things like "Suck it up so one day you won't have to suck it in". I want the makers to know that this can be triggering to someone who is overcoming certain disordered behaviors. Not everyone who works out is trying to change what their body looks like. For example, I have chronic back pain and I want more options to help strengthen my core/lower body and alleviate some of that pain. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to please rethink the design of that particular card and the message you want to send with your product.
