I bought a size large for my 7-year-old, 15 lb rat terrier mix that has basically no hair on her underside. I was specifically looking for something that would keep her warm on her chest and tummy, because she’s practically hairless under there. This jacket does the job well. It’s surprisingly good quality. Thick, soft and fleecy underneath but tough and ruggedly wool on top (which is a good thing, my OCD fetch-playing pup isn’t exactly a prissy dog). The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t seem quite long enough for her. The neckline is a bit off and the back seems to not quite go far enough, as if I grabbed the wrong size. She’s long legged and long bodied, so perhaps it’s her awkward size is the reason for the awkward fit? But I assumed a large would fit better. In any case, it is still warm and still goes on and off with ease, and fits well enough to do its job. So overall I’m pleased and would buy it again, although in a slightly bigger size or for a smaller dog.
