Worth the extra money
We installed this in the bar area of our RV and love it. It really is a lot thicker than the other brands and was very easy to install. We used a paper cutter, scissors, a straight edge and a box cutter to cut. I wouldn’t recommend the paper cutter for this thick tile.. my husband had the strength to kind of slam it down hard to cut it smooth and sharp but I think a box cutter works the best. And we had a duh moment....remove the plastic film over the top of the tile before cutting then put it back on to smooth it in place. The tile itself is kind of sticky. We had a couple places we had to cut real close to the grout and it messed up the grout. We just recut since we had extra but I think you could touch up with paint if you had to. We had a 3/4” gap under the microwave and 1/2” under the other cabinet. Considered putting trim but we even managed to cut small strips to fit right in there. We did not have anywhere that needed to be caulked in this area. Use a level. Measure, measure, measure and templates are very helpful. We started along the right edge. It’s like a puzzle. There have been no problems with adhesion yet...the real test will be in the next few weeks as it is at the factory and will not have any air and will be exposed to constant heat. Although we don’t live in it, we keep it at an RV park so it’s always connected. If there are any issues I’ll update. We didn’t know if we could install around stove area but the factory rep didn't think it would be a problem. We generally don’t cook on the stove top a lot or use more than one burner at a time. It would be totally at your discretion. So it’s on to the stove area and bathroom!
