SUCCESS!
I purchased these jars for a magnetic spice jar project. I reviewed many of the other 4-oz jar options on AMAZON and selected these because the profile of these 4-oz jars were PERFECT for this project; (2.8 wide x 2.6 high) These jars are shorter and wider than all of the others offered. Most others were 2.3 wide x 3.0 high. Because I was wanting to mount these jars on the side of my refrigerator, I needed them to be more shallow and wider as to not be too gravity heavy. The jars arrived properly pckg'd and in perfect condition. The jars came with plastisol lined lids for an airtight seal. The lids tighten securely with 1/4 turn; enough for these petite jars. These jars are classified as 4-oz jars because they will comfortably hold up to 1/2 cup of product... NOT 4-oz of product. So buy wisely. Because I'm using these for spices, the 4-oz capacity of these jars will generously accommodate the contents of 1 larger spice jar... (about 2oz by weight depending on the spice).
I anticipated that the weight of these jars and the strength of the magnets may scratch the exterior of my refrigerator, so to protect my finish and keep gauss strength, I also purchased an inexpensive MAGNETIC Dry-erase white board to affix to my refrigerator: (SEE PHOTOS)

The magnetic board worked great at protecting my refrigerator surface while still provided strength. I also purchased a pack of Neodymium Disc Magnets, Super Strong Rare Earth Magnets. These N52 magnets are indeed SUPER STRONG and have a gauss rating of 8 out of 10 where most other craft magnets have a standard gauss rating of only 5.

Besides the thin profile, what I loved most about these magnets is their incredible strength! After sterilizing the jars and lids and making sure the lids were free of any oily residue, I affixed a 3M double sided adhesive discs to the top of the lid:

and then attached one magnet to the adhesive disc. Voila! (If you are using the smaller 1.5 oz hexagon glass jars, then I recommend you use a lesser gauss grade magnet) ** It's important to note to wait a solid 24-36 hours after applying the adhesive disc/magnet to the jar lid BEFORE placing them on the side of your refrigerator. Per the adhesive disc recommendations, this allows the adhesive to set securely.
I ordered a set of 1-3/4" round, clear spice labels to affix to the bottom of the jars.

The bottoms of the jars have some raised numbers and letters, but that didn't affect the label application. However, this may trouble some of you so if you prefer a smoother label application, then AMAZON offers alternative spice labels.
I couldn't be more pleased with the success of this project. I hope you find this review helpful... :0) <3
