The. Best. Pan.
If you are a serious bushwhacker or thru hiker, this is your fry pan. It is about 49 times heavier than any of the other fry pans, but, it is high-grade stainless, robust, and has an aluminium sandwich base (clad) so it heats and cooks very evenly. It is big enough for most any duty, and tough enough for the trail. No, it is nowhere near as light as aluminium or titanium, but it works so, so much better. I washed mine upon delivery with hot water and soap, and then promptly seasoned it by frying some bacon in it, then rubbing the bacon grease all over it, and then baking it at 400 F for an hour. This completely ruins the beautiful shiny stainless color? But makes cooking in the pan much easier (non-stick) and cleaning similarly easy. I take ghee (clarified butter) with me for cooking, since it requires no refrigeration, and it cooks fish wonderfully in this pan.
