I wasn't sure how this would work and was a little hesitant, but WOW - this is awesome. My son's carpet was disgusting and had to go - but I didn't have the budget yet to give him a better floor so I decided to just pull the carpet up and paint the sub-floor to look like wood. This was SO easy to do - and it really does look good.
