I am so torn on this product! I have a gorgeous, long haired kitty. I usually brush her about once week, and i usually get about a palm's worth of hair by the time she completely hates me and runs off. I could tell she hated these brushing sessions, and I've been noticed floating hair around the house, so I thought id try a new product. So, let me just lay it out: Pros: 1) OMG ALL THAT HAIR! I brushed for maybe 2-3 minutes and the amount of hair that came out was mind blowing. This definitely gets allll the hairs, and kinda makes it concerning (see cons). 2) My cat didn't seem to hate it AS MUCH. Cons: 1) OMG ALL THAT HAIR! Okay, this was honestly concerning. For the couple minutes I brushed, I was getting worried that I was removing TOO MUCH hair. I ended up just letting her go because I was worried that for as long as I brushed, the hair would still keep coming out. This is a huge factor as to why I'm torn. in the couple minutes i brushed, there was a hair clump the size of my head. Maybe i got that much hair because it was my first use with this tool? I know my cat is healthy, but that was an excessive amount, and i wasn't sure how long i should brush for, because the hair didn't stop shedding...idk... 2) The hair went everywhere. As you brush, the shed hair just kinda sits at the base of the tail until you glop it all up and continue. But, as you may know, cat hair doesn't just stay in one place. The hair went everywhere, floated in the air, on my arms, allllll over my clothes - it was insanity. When i stood up, there was just as much hair on me, than on the ground - I had grown a new sweater. And even as I walked away, i found hair stuck to my watch, my hair tie, floating near my nose...this is also a big no. I cannot brush my kitty outdoors; she's strictly indoor cat. The previous comb i used to use would catch and keep all the hair in the long bristles. Alas, I'm so torn. I'm going to try this again tonight and see if the amount of hair shedding stays constant for longer. I'm not trying to make my long haired cat go bald. UPDATE: I changed my review from 3 to 4 stars because it does efficiently and effectively remove so much hair, and I could tell my cat's coat is so much shinier and softer. I still can't give 5 stars because the hair does get EVERYWHERE every time I brush! I cannot get past that.
