This portable Blu-Ray player is packed with plenty of features -- many of which are not documented. Could play any disc I threw at it. But it's true nuggets of features were in video file playback. I could play almost all video formats (DivX, Divx HD, MP4, VOB) with the exception of "native" AVI. This player was even able to play a Blu-Ray folder with FULL menu support. That was a bonus. Playback time on battery while playing a disc with headphones and default player settings was over 3 hours. I observed the same timings while playing from a thumb drive as well. Speaking of drives, this player could handle both FAT32 and NTFS formatted devices with ease. Was easily able to handle both thumb drives and external hard drives. Battery charge up time for a fully drained battery was 4.5 hours. The unit swivels in all directions and can also be "bent back" as a tablet. The internal speakers deliver a BIG sound, but use headphones it you want to conserve battery power. It connects easily, via HDMI cable (not included), to an HD TV, but the sound still comes out of the speakers (a design flaw -- it should have the sound cut out) which is a bit annoying. Shortcomings: no native AVI support, cannot play VOD DivX (no way to register the device) and my personal wish that it was at least 12 inches across. This product is a bit pricey, but well worth the expense. It also comes with a carrying bag, but it's a bit small -- I had to put the unit into one of mine own bigger carrying bags. All in all, if you want a portable blu-ray player than can also play almost any video file format, from any external USB device, then this product is for you!
