If you are one of those people who likes high-quality sound and digital resolution, this TV may not be for you. But if you are someone looking for a less expensive way to have a decent-sized TV/DVD player, then this will probably fit your needs. I happen to be someone who wasn't necessarily looking for great sound and a perfect picture. The sound level goes up sufficiently for my needs on this unit and the picture is acceptable. It's a great buy on an extra TV. I'm using it as a DVD player and am happy with my purchase so far. NOTE: The neck of stand is actually kept inside a recess in the stryofoam packing. Don't throw the styrofoam packing away until you have carefully looked for the neck piece of the stand. (The bottom piece is easily found, as it is packaged with the instructions.)
