Consider this a review and an instruction manual. First, the accolades. The design of this trap is impeccable, and facilitates an impressive ability to catch the yellow jackets that had invaded our waterfront deck at a vacation rental in Michigan. However, this performance is incumbent upon having the right bait, and the bait included with the trap is nearly worthless. We had first seen these used at a little local cider mill, and they had dozens of yellow jackets trapped with apple juice. We bought two on Amazon, and I did a test with our first install. One trap for both types of factory baits, installed as per instructions. The other trap got 8 ounces of apple juice with the bottom bait station empty. Fast forward a week and a half and check out the pictures. Factory bait got a few yellow jackets it the top trap and nothing in the bottom. The one baited with the apple juice is FULL of yellow jackets with a few assorted other insects in the top trap, and numerous dead yellow jackets in the UNBAITED bottom trap. If you have a yellow jacket problem, BUY THESE NOW along with a case of 8 oz apple juice bottles, change the juice once a week, and slay those wasps!
