STOP Looking At Cases And BUY This One
I've owned an iPad Pro 2017 10.5inch for about a year. I've tried 3 different cases. Each case had a draw back, maybe it offered protection, but seemed cheap. Or maybe it did a great job protecting the screen, but the back was exposed. So I kept searching, until I found this one.
This case is made of a nice rubber material that does not appear to show finger prints, oil, or dirt very easily (at least in the color black). It adds a bit of bulk and weight to the iPad, but not that much. It feels good in your hands, as feel like it would be tough to drop. All ports and speakers are perfectly cut out as well.
Now here is where the good part of the review is, using your iPad in the case. Most iPad covers build the stand into the cover, so you kind of roll it into a triangle, however this limits the positions you can use the iPad in to 2. Basically laying it down or standing it up at an awkward and unusable angle.
This cover provides more of a kick stand that magnetically locks to the cover in 8 built in anchor points. Why is this great? It allows you to pretty much easily find the perfect viewing or productivity angle for using it. Whether you have it on your desk or your lap, you should find an angle that works and lets you actually interact with it, without it falling over as you press on the screen.
The cover, like most in the market, auto turns the screen on and off while you open an close it. It also offers a nice place to store your Apple Pencil. I love the Apple Pencil, but typically don't have it when I want to use it. I think I might actually use it more.
PROS
- Well constructed case, that does not feel cheap
- All speakers, buttons, and lightning port are cut perfectly
- Kickstand with magnetic docking points makes finding the perfect angle to use it easy
- Wakes the screen up when you open the cover
- Has a small pouch to store your Apple Pencil
CONS
- Not a cheap case, but I do believe you get what you pay for
- Small design gripe, but on the case they have the power and volume buttons labeled (see pictures)
- Apple Pencil holder is made with a very thin fabric that I could see tearing down the road
- I'm also not a fan of the company's logo being all over the case
Overall this is a great case and if I have any issues with it, I'll update this review.
