If you are considering the Phantom 3 Standard in lieu of the Advanced or Pro ....
If you are currently debating between the Phantom 3 Standard or the Pro, you are in the same position I found myself around this time last week. Hours of reading reviews and documentation, because I was about to spend anywhere from $400+ upwards of $1,100+. I had "paralysis by analysis" from researching so many different product configs and sellers. After a week of this, I made my decision to go with the Standard, figuring I could return it if I didn't like it. I bought mine from the 3rd least expensive seller. Not the cheapest, because I've found that seller ratings actually DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. The difference being an Amazon fulfilled seller that had 99% positive feedback. Amazon fulfillment means you get the benefit of Amazon shipping agility without the tax hassle, plus much easier returns/exchanges if needed. I love Amazon for this! I'm into my 3rd day of flying my DJI P3S and have no doubts that I bought the correct model. Granted, I don't have the pro model in hand for an actual comparison. But there are enough reviews that helped me justify not having to compare personally. Bottom line is that the STANDARD exceeds all of my expectations I had in my mind. All of that analysis made me doubt whether the shorter range would matter, whether the cheaper camera was good enough, and whether mine would stay aloft because it didn't have GLONASS or Vision. Day by day I was gradually flying longer, higher, and faster. To the point now that I've forgotten about all those extras. I'm flying in 10-20 mph wind gusts the past few days and the P3S doesn't budge! You can see the trees swaying back and forth from the wind and the gimble+GPS keeps it spot on in the same place! It's quite eerie to watch as it fools the senses. It is amazing how DJI can build such a capable quadcopter for less than $500. Speaking of costs, I spent about $500 less on the Standard vs. the Pro. I took some of the difference between the pro and standard and put it towards a spare battery. Best $100 I've ever spent! Being able to swap out a battery and get another 20 minutes of flighttime ... priceless! And with the rest of the price difference I figure I have enough to splurge on a 2nd P3S when the prices finally drop to around $400. I love my DJI P3S! I love the adrenaline rush from watching it fight heavy wind and win. I love being able to take my eyes off the controls and/or the P3S for minutes while I take pictures from my ground camera. It is so freeing to have a platform that can almost fly itself when you need it.
