Cica Tape vs. Scar Away
Ok, I had bought the Scar Away silicone sheet and was very impressed with it. It was thick,3" long & very good quality, plus it has like a fabric layer on top. The adhesive is also good. I tried it for awhile though don't see much improvement on my scar. Maybe I need more time.1 down point? very expensive.
Then I saw this Cica Tape & decided to give it a try. For 60" with the price of 24" worth of Scar Away, I figure it's worth the try, plus my dermatologist said "Any silicone tape would do".
I have to confess that my first impression of the Cica tape was not too positive. It's small & thin and the tape looks very flimsy with its see-through quality. It also has the perforation of every 2" & my scar was longer than that, so I have to lay the tape diagonally to increase the length. Plus after washing it, it's so thin that it's harder to keep it from not folding.
But then the positive sides surface: Being thin & translucent, it blends into your skin rather than looking like a shiny fabric band-aid as the Scar Away. It also doesn't roll up in my sleep since it lays flat & thin on the scar. Plus, the best thing is I actually see my scar does fade after a few weeks.
1 Review did say the Scar Away just sits there on top of your scar & does nothing. I do agree. .
