My 14 years old Yorkshire terrier developed severe form of CHF. His belly and lungs were filled with water and he had a very hard time to breath. He was so sick that he could not eat anything and refused to eat or drink. We took him to the vet who had only one suggestion to euthanize Nunu. I did not want to give up on my little friend. I started to give him Lasix and other cardiac medication. Nunu lost his water but he was very cachexic (muscle waste and lost all his fat. Bones were protruding through his skin). And yet he would not take any food to his mouth and would not drink at all. (Lasix made him severely dehydrated). I was desperate and thought he will die. I was searching trough supplements for dogs and came across NutriCal gel and decided to try it. (At this point I was not afraid to experiment). I started to give Nunu this gel 1 teaspoon 3 times a day. In 2 days Nunu started to get up and made his first steps. However, his stool became rather loose and I was afraid that he will start having diarrhea. I started to mix gel with puppy food, put in the blender with some water and feed Nunu this semi liquid food through the syringe. In 2 days Nunu started to walk again. Today Nunu ate already twice and I did not have to feed him with syringe. He still looks sick, very weak and sleeps a lot. Bot I believe we are on the track of recovery. I truly believe that NutriCal saved my beloved pet his life.
