Our Alpaca Loves It!
I got this for my 17 month old granddaughter whom I am adopting. At first she was afraid of the slide, but she loves it now. Problem is like other reviewers said, the child can't slide down easily no matter what they're wearing or adding water. Guess I'll try the oil idea someone mentioned. This is a very colorful and fun play pool, and there is a smaller compartment behind the slide that can be used as either a baby pool or I think it was designed to be a foot wash before you go over the slide. Both the smaller section and the larger section has drain plugs. I have not had any luck with the palm tree staying up for more than a day. All the inflatable sections lose air when sitting out in the sun for more than a day. You will probably want to drain it anyhow after each use, depending on the surrounding terrain. We live out in the country with farm animals so we have a lot of dirt and yard debris that ends up in the pool. Here is a funny pic of our Alpaca Jethro hanging out in the pool! This photo was aired on our local t.v. station this morning and at noon, they thought this was a very funny picture. Jethro has his own baby pool but he likes this one so I can't keep him out of it! So I leave it up and clean it out good before the baby uses it. BTW, there are about a dozen different air valves on this thing. Each piece is separate, even the slide arms and underneath cushion. It may seem odd but the main valve is gigantic, and even after installing the attached insert, air leaks out around whatever air source you are using. I used a compressor and it still took a while. And every few days if you leave it out, the sun causes air to dissipate, causing you to spend another 30-40 minutes opening valves and adding air. So I am deducting one star for it being a pain in the rear end to inflate! UPDATE 1/14/17~ Our 3 rooster boys decided this pool was fun too, so every afternoon they were in it pecking around in the water. So eventually their claws poked a bunch of tiny holes in the bottom and we had to give up and throw it away. It was fun while we had it but this year I'm going to buy one that's not so complicated to inflate.
