I bought this sample pack to try out an assortment of these DevaCurl products because I've never used them before and didn't want to invest in a large size in case they didn't work. Here is what I found with each product: * No-Poo (Shampoo) - This worked well, just as any other shampoo. People complained about it not lathering and having a bad smell. I didn't have a problem with it lathering and I thought it smelled nice. *One Condition - This is the BEST conditioner I've ever used. It literally made my hair feel so silky smooth after just one use. When I got out the shower and went to run a comb through, it went straight through without encountering any tangles. I've never had such a pleasant time combing my hair. This is how people with straight hair must feel every time they brush their hair. * Light Defining Gel - This seemed like any other gel I've used in the past. A little goes a long way with this gel. If you use too much your hair gets hard and crunchy. Some people like that, but I prefer my curls to be soft so I go easy on this product. My hair is shoulder length and a quarter size amount works. Just rub your hands together, bend over and scrunch from the bottom to the top to distribute and give your hair more body. * Styling Cream - I really love this cream. I used to be a big user of gel then switched to mousse. I thought mousse did an o.k. job and then I tried this cream and this is my new obsession. It keeps my hair feeling super soft and healthy. I definitely want to buy this styling cream but it's so dang expensive. Give us curly girls a break and lower the price please, because $18 for 5oz of product is crazy. I found that mixing a quarter size amount of gel with 8-10 tiny pumps of the styling cream is the best recipe for my hair (I have thin, fine, curly hair). The concoction doesn't make my hair crunchy but the cream keeps my hair feeling conditioned and the gel helps hold everything in place. So if you aren't having any luck using either of those products individually, try mixing them together. Every girl with curly hair has different thickness and coarseness so you need to experiment to see what works best for you. My mom has curly hair, but hers is thick and coarse so what works for my thin, fine, curls, doesn't work the same for her. I'm really glad I purchased this sample kit because I found what products work for me and I will definitely be purchasing the conditioner and styling cream. I'd buy them all in normal size if it wasn't so dang expensive.
