Bought this when I had herniated disc. Looked really flimsy in the package, but followed the directions and once unwrapped the memory foam filled with air and it has held its form well. Ended up buying 2- one for office and one for car. I am a physical therapist and this provided very good support (make sure you scoot you buttocks back under it). It held up well and should do good for people of average size- probably at least 200#. Might flatten more if someone is very obese, as it is memory foam.
