QUICK UPDATE: I have now had these stairs for over a year now and they are still in the exact same condition as when I first purchased them - I truly could not recommend these more. They are perfect. Also, I found another set of these same stairs in a larger size that was able to reach the top of my bed, so I purchased those, as well. These stairs are one of the of the most worthwhile purchases I have ever made. -- To start, I just want to say that these stairs are incredible. I have a 16 year old Cockapoo who is my world. I’ve had him since he was 3 months old and always do my best to make sure he’s staying as healthy and comfortable as possible. He’s doing great and is very healthy, but he has arthritis and weakness in his joints that occasionally causes him to limp and doesn’t allow him to jump up on couches/beds like he used to be able to. He’s on an all-natural supplement for this, but obviously it won’t make everything perfect again. Before purchasing these stairs, we always had to pick him up and down on the couch and would always get so scared and cringe whenever he’d jump off the couch without us looking because he could seriously hurt himself doing so. After doing a ton of research on different stairs and some trial and error (don’t ever purchase any plastic sets; they are terrible), I finally decided on this one. I couldn’t be more happy with my decision. These steps not only are the perfect height for my couch, but they’re amazing quality, extremely durable, look really nice, and make it so easy for my little guy to get up and down from the couch. INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR QUALITY To start off, the outer fabric is removable via zipper and is a very soft (almost blanket-like) polyester fabric. You’re able to clean the outer cover by removing it and washing in your washing machine on cold and drying in your dryer on cold. Any dog owner will know what a saving grace this is. Dog paws will get dirty no matter what you do, so it’s wonderful to be able to clean it safely. When it comes to the inside, you’re only supposed to spot clean it with mild soap and water. The stairs are made of a polyurethane foam, which likely means nothing to most people (as it did to me). These stairs are a very firm foam that holds its shape, but is forgiving to pressure applied to it so as to not “shock” any joints of a dog or cat going up or down it. MY EXPERIENCE I’ve had these stairs for over half a year now and they’re used numerous times every single day by my 18lb Cockapoo and they look exactly as they did the day I got them. Not a single sag, dent, or misshaping in any part of the stairs whatsoever. I’d also like to add that I have a 65lb Pitbull who occasionally helps himself to the stairs that he certainly does not need, and it holds up really well under his weight and does not tear or get deformed by his sharp nails and body weight. At first, Kobi (my Cockapoo) didn’t want to use them and preferred to just sit at our feet, waiting to be picked up, but after a quick 10-15 minutes teaching him how to use them (since he was never used to stairs for the couch), he got it down and has been using them like a pro since. He now never just jumps off the couch and is always using his stairs. This is saving his joints and preventing any injuries from happening. I’m so, so grateful that I ended up deciding on these specific stairs. I had been deciding between almost all possible options that Amazon has to offer and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend these to anyone who needs stairs for their pet. You don’t get better than these. I only wish they made even taller versions of this so I could use it for my bed, as well. CONS The /only/ thing I could possibly say is even close to a con with these stairs isn’t even really a con, but moreso just a small improvement that could be made to make it even better. I wish the depth of the stairs was just an inch or two larger, so my dog could have more room to have both front and back paws on without accidentally slipping because they’re a little awkwardly close to one another. Again, this isn’t actually a con, but is something I’d improve if I could because it would make it easier for my pup to go up them. VIDEO Feel free to have a look for yourself. I’ve included a video showing Kobi going up and then down the stairs, so you can see how he easily he navigates them; and additionally, me pressing as hard as I can on the stairs and showing how conforms to my body (but doesn’t give in under me), but then immediately bounces back to its original form after the pressure is removed. TL;DR These stairs are incredible and worth every penny. I would highly recommend them to anyone with a pet, young or old. I would buy these a million times over.
