Preferred over B&W PX, Sony 1000XM2 & Beats Studio 3
No audiophile here, just a regular 42 year old man who likes headphones with his Note 8. As mentioned above I tried the Bowers and Wilkins PX, Sony 1000XM2 and the Beats Studio 3 and for me I liked these H900N's the best. The B&W's are the most premium but let me tell you they look absolutely ridiculous on my bald head and the clamping pressure was just way to intense. Sound quality aside, these were the worst of the bunch and most expensive. Beats Studio 3's look great, the Shadow Gray/Gold is attractive and they looked the best on my head, I enjoyed the clean design most of all. They look almost as good as my wired V-Moda M100's. However the lack of technology in these headphones ruled them out (no apt-x HD, no app and no feature to pause music for a conversation). The Sony 1000xM2 is very nice and I liked that the headphones fold flat, sound was excellent and noise cancelling pretty much perfect. However these also looked a little goofy on my head too and stuck out farther from my head than I liked. Plus they were $50 more at the time. I think a lot of people will really like the 1000xM2's and are worth consideration, especially if you want something a little more professional looking. But these H900N's look attractive (I still wish the headband didn't have such a large gap around the temple area of my head), have almost all the same technology as the 1000xM2's, have a nice app and perform with one hell of a punch. This color is a little more blue than gray but looks urban/stylish which I liked as well. They also are all plastic, maybe less premium than some would like for this price point but still feel quality and solid. My suggestion is to give these a shot if you're looking but cannot recommend enough to try them all and see what suits you best. For me, these are fantastic! A quick side note, Jim's Review Room on YouTube just reviewed these and it's really worth your time watching. He dives in deep with the noise cancellation features and shows you some of the app functionality.
