I'm not into leaving reviews but I feel to have an obligation to do it in this case. I have suffered from cold sores on my mouth for over 15 years, in which occurs every 4 to 6 weeks. After the one before the last I was looking for alternatives to Abreva (I have tried everything up to this point), since all the other products seemed to shorten the duration by a day or two (if I leave untreated it would take 6 to 8 days to go away and heal), it just didn't seem enough. I really can't stand going out with the sides of my lips looking like that, plus it hurts to eat and talk. So I ran into this product here at Amazon, the reviews were promising so I ordered it. One week after I received it, I caught the flu for the first time in my life, so by the time it ran its course my immune system was in shambles. You can guess what happens next, the cold sores came in with a revenge I've never seen before. I started to use this ointment within minutes of that dreadful feeling, it was about 7 am. I reapplied every 3 hours and noticed the pain I normally felt with the sore developing had stopped. By 8 pm, the sores were gone, there was a red spot in its place. By 4 pm the next day, everything was gone, like it never happened. I'm not getting anything in return nor being asked or offered anything to write this review. I can't guarantee it will work as well for you as it did for me but I am so happy I have found this product, I had to share my experience. I would have been happy if had shortened the duration from 8 days to 4, I never imagined it would work so well. Plus it costs 1/3 of Abreva's price. Best of luck to you all.
