We decided to cancel cable. I looked into the individual antennas (e.g. Mohu Leaf), but considering we have 4 TVs, $30-60 a per antenna was out of the question. After some browsing and researching, I decided to take a chance on this antenna. I'd never heard of the brand, but thought that for the price (35.99 at the time), what did I have to lose. According to antennaweb.org we are 30 miles from the Tampa towers and 65 miles from the Orlando towers. I chose to do an attic installation. I put it above the garage. As you can see in the photos, I used PVC pipe (4ft, 3/4") to mount the antenna. And attached the pipe to a piece of plywood. To get the signal to the 4 TVs I used a standard splitter, I thought I was going to need a amplified splitter but I didn't. The antenna worked for the Orlando and the Tampa stations, but I chose to orient the antenna towards the Tampa towers. We are getting a great signal on all of the TVs, and even though it's facing towards Tampa, we also pickup a few Orlando stations and they're in the opposite direction. Between the antenna, Netflix, and Amazon, we are saving $120 per month compared to cable.
