This book took me by surprise. It was recommended to me because I was looking for a strong willed female main character, an enemies to lovers romance and a paranormal or urban fantasy setting. I definitely got everything I was looking for in the book! The MC was kick ass, but not only that she worked hard to get there. There were times that certain things suddenly came to her easily but she always questioned it, she didn't just accept the idea of these skills suddenly being available to her. I loved that! Ash is definitely a grey character who tries to do things for the side of good. While her love interest, Levi, tries to do good for his people. He is also swoon worthy with his Italian accent. Another thing I really enjoyed was how the enemies to lovers romance unfolds. Them being enemies makes sense and didnt feel forced. (There are so many "enemies to lovers" stories out there that make me wonder why they hate each other.) Not only that but when the lines start to blur they don't suddenly fall madly in love. (Thank goodness) The action and mystery was intriguing and it was nice to see this story wrapped around Jewish beliefs. It was something different and refreshing. Overall 5 Stars Audiobook: 5 stars. Listened at 1.5 speed. This narrator was perfect for this series. Already bought book 2 as well as the first book in the author's other series.
