I've had my iPhone 6+ since the week it came out. I've been waiting for Otterbox to release a case for this phone as i've been an Otterbox guy for the 4, 4S, and 5S. My experience with the Commuter case on each phone has been nothing short of amazing. The protection the Commuter provides is top notch. I dropped my 5S so many times and in so many circumstances (hardwood, cement, tile and from heights of 2 ft to 5 ft) and never once was i worried my phone would be damaged. Needless to say- when i got my IPhone 6+, i was a bit bummed the Commuter wasn't out. Fearing i would drop my 6+ waiting for the Otterbox-i tried MULTIPLE cases. First up was the Pelican Progear Voyager. This case was extremely thick and bulky and wasn't very attractive. It offered great protection from drops-but the negatives (bulky, half rubber back causing friction taking out of front pocket, nearly impossible to hit the silent switch, and an eyesore) outweigh the protection factor. Next up-i tried the Spigen Slim Armor with the outer aluminum ring. This case is beautiful visually (possibly the best i've seen aesthetically)-but offered ZERO drop protection. Back to the drawing board-i finally got a Spigen Tough Armor Case. This case itself is slim and does offer protection-HOWEVER-Spigen decided to make the case just about the same height as your screen. So laying it "screen down" is a gamble. The Silent mode switch was tough to get to. Its also not the prettiest-as it has a "kickstand" that folds out- i found it to be a waste. FINALLY-Otterbox releases the Commuter- and after unboxing and putting my iPhone 6+ in it-it was love at first sight (and feel). I'm glad Otterbox took their time. This is their BEST Commuter case to date. The outer plastic shell is now molded so it covers the top and bottom and "wraps" the phone better. Its also rounded on the sides-and has the best feel in your hand out of all the other cases. Amazingly-its also very slim (same depth as the Spigen Tough Armor) and offers FANTASTIC protection. Its also high enough over the screen so when you put it screen down-there's PLENTY of space so its not "surface to screen". As for the silent switch? They did an excellent job engineering the gap so you can easily toggle it. The volume and power buttons are extremely tactile as well. The hard plastic back also makes it easy sliding a phone in and out of your front jeans pocket! In all- this is easily the best case if you're looking for something that A-Looks great B-offers excellent protection C-does not add all that much bulk for a case to offer so much protection. If you're looking for a good case-THIS IS THE ONE!
