so I am not very mechanically inclined and asked my boyfriend to put this up. He spent 45 minutes on it and then gave up. He said it couldn't be done because there was no threading for the large screws at the end to grab on to and that he couldn't fix the gap at the lock area. Not wanting to give up as it would be the most perfect dog gate for us with the cat door, I took a look at it. I didnt even read the instructions. I read the yellow attention sign and read that the gap is suppose to be there and that it works through pressure. So I went to him and said that maybe it wasn't suppose to be threaded, because it works through the pressure. He of course laughed at me and acted like I was complete idiot and said it would not hold without threads. So I went back in and installed it myself in 5 minutes with pressure and got the usual, you were right afterward. This thing is awesome. No baby gate to step over, the cat can get in and out and as it is adjustable, it can fit in our doorway which is smaller at the bottom, then it is on the top. Girls rule, boys drool!
