Silent, effective, and EXACTLY what you want.
The item was a bit smaller than I was expecting... but that's a GOOD thing for an item destined to reside on my nightstand, where space is at a premium. Assembly took seconds and required no tools or even peeks at the owner's manual, except to make sure I had installed the included filter with the proper side up. Speaking of the owner's manual, it's clearly been translated into English from what I'd guess was originally Mandarin, but was still easy to understand.
The unit's finish feels almost "rubberized," which gives it a more upscale feeling than smooth injection-molded plastic. The stainless-colored plastic trim pieces are a nice touch, and give this humidifier a modern, minimalist, upscale vibe.
I filled the unit with distilled water and plugged it in and pressed the POWER button. I was ASTONISHED at the amount of vapor billowing from the unit's "mouth." Then I realized it was on "LOW." I pressed the POWER button again to set the unit to "HIGH" and the amount of vapor practically doubled. This thing puts out a LOT of vapor. So much so on "HIGH" that looks almost like steam or smoke. Which is awesome!
I purchased the unit primarily so I'd sleep better and not wake up with a stuffy nose and dry throat. I didn't take "before and after" humidity readings in my bedroom, but the living room thermostat reported 29% RH at bedtime. I'm certain it was much higher in my bedroom after just a few minutes of humidification from the URPOWER unit. I like it as dark as possible when I sleep, so when I turned off the bedroom light I was glad to see that the dim blue LED light on the humidifier was nowhere near bright enough to bother me. If it had, I could have easily covered it with electrical tape. I was equally delighted that the unit made ZERO noise. I mean, it makes a tiny amount of noise if you hold your head right next to it, but from a couple feet away where my head lay on my pillow? Silent. This was my biggest worry before purchasing the unit, and I was stunned (and happy).
The unit had burned through about half a tank of water overnight. How much it uses depends on the relative humidity in your area and the size of the room you're humidifying. I was just glad it ran all night with plenty to spare. I kept it running all day and refilled it at about 4PM. So it ran for about 19 hours on a single tank before automatically shutting itself off and turning on the "droplet with a line through it" light to indicate it was out of water.
BOTTOM LINE: This one's a winner. Silent, effective, easy to use. I plan on buying another one for my office.
